Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026.

The Comp & Benefits (Total Rewards) HR Intern will gain knowledge and hands-on-experience working on a variety of Compensation and Benefits projects side by side with experienced HR professionals to help attract, retain, grow and develop our employees. You'll utilize your passion for people, curiosity, and problem solving skills to help HR navigate and work through essential programs and execute strategic goals.

What you'll do:

  • Support a wide variety of Compensation and Benefits projects to include: payroll, compensation, benefits, wellness, data and technology.

  • Work closely with different areas of HR to evaluate the organization and employee's needs and recommend solutions.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors degree program in human resources, organizational leadership, business administration, or related field.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of the department.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet this requirement.
