Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is a Partner of Choice for the Nebraska University System. Our Interns work a hybrid schedule and spend some days working on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village. Therefore, you will need to live within commuting distance from June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026.

The Well-being Internship provides an opportunity for a college student to gain professional experience in a leading corporate wellness program. Students can customize this position to gain knowledge and skills that will help them in the health and wellness field.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the coordination of corporate wellness programs and events for BCBSNE employees as well as external wellness employer groups and clients.
  • Assist with the management of the onsite wellness center. Conduct Wellness Center equipment orientations along with conducting fitness testing and exercise prescriptions.
  • Assist in planning and executing corporate health fairs for BCBSNE employees and outside groups' wellness programs
  • Gain exposure to marketing and promotion of BCBSNE initiatives
  • Work alongside the BCBSNE human resources team to help coordinate health and wellbeing initiatives and benefits.
  • Support the development of health education materials, newsletters and digital content.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • Currently a Junior or Senior in undergraduate program in Exercise Science, Public Health, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs

The Strongest candidate will also possess:

  • Strong interest in corporate wellness and employee well-being
  • Experience with event planning or health education
