The Director, Insights Delivery (DID) leads the Insights Delivery (ID) team within IT's Data, Analytics, Reporting and Integration (DARI) group. As the functional lead of the ID group, the DID is responsible for three primary functions: 1) Analytics Project Management; 2) Self-Service Governance; 3) Group Leadership & Administration.



Responsibilities

Analytic Project Management: The incumbent will manage the full lifecycle of business-facing, governed analytic solutions-primarily in PowerBI-using Agile methodology. As a hands-on analytic leader, they will collaborate with Data, Analytics, Reporting, and Integration team to ensure effective solution delivery. Responsibilities include leading the collection and alignment of business requirements, and working with GATX end-users and functional leaders to align solutions with priorities, identify process gaps, and implement governed and self-service insights.

Self-Service Governance: The DID owns GATX's self-service analytic function and is responsible for GATX's information delivery "Center of Excellence" ("COE"), working to promote the growth and adoption of enterprise-wide self-service analytics as well as enforcement of self-service best practices.

Group Leadership & Administration: The DID is responsible for the leadership, mentorship, and growth of the business analysts and business intelligence engineers which make up the ID group.

The DID will engage across all levels and functions at GATX, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. They must be able to create and present clear, professional plans and recommendations. This cross-functional, mission-critical role demands a motivated, intelligent self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, builds consensus, and navigates complexity. Additionally, the DID must be a capable manager who supports and develops junior team members into future GATX leaders.



Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required

    Bachelor's degree in Analytics or other relevant technical discipline required.
  • Ten years of analytic project management experience.
  • Certification in relevant Agile project management disciplines (Scrum, Kanban, or Scaled Agile).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including at the senior executive level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical experts, business functional experts, and executive leadership.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying structured problem-solving practices; formal training and/or relevant certification is desirable.

  • Occasional work on nights and weekends to support production environment and meet project demands and deadlines

Travel required

  • Up to 8% travel is expected to help facilitate project activities aligned to solutions that will be delivered to GATX's fixed maintenance shops.

Min

USD $131,000.00/Yr.


Max

USD $187,000.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
