The following job description covers the primary job duties, functions and responsibilities of the Tax Accountant in our Finance and Corporate Accounting Department, reporting to the Tax Director. Changes to these duties, functions and responsibilities may be made for the benefit of the Company or the department, and, therefore, flexibility within this description is required.



Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Assist in preparing and reviewing federal and state corporate and partnership income tax calculations for company tax return filings, ensuring accurate and timely completion
  • Assist with the annual, detailed review of the partnership's K-1 forms distributed to investors.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly federal and state income tax accruals in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Maintain tax return filing calendar to ensure timely filing of all federal, state and local compliance obligations.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and tax research projects as needed.
  • Establish cross functional relationships to obtain necessary information used to prepare income tax calculations.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with Tax Director and external service providers regarding tax matters and deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 1-3 years of combined public accounting and/or industry experience
  • Partnership tax knowledge preferred, but not required
  • Income tax accounting experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks on schedule
  • Strong professional judgment and dependability in managing tasks and responsibilities
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical and conscientious
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Has desire to learn and grow
  • Proactive in analyzing issues and solving problems
