Summary of the Job:

Director, Financial Institutions, will act as a relationship manager (RM) and be responsible for developing, managing, and deepening relationships with current and prospective financial institution clients. This role will focus on delivering the full suite of the bank's solutions. These solutions will include loan, deposit accounts, global services, capital markets, and treasury services solutions, while maintaining an acceptable risk profile. This role will also be responsible for driving product innovation and overseeing key processes such as Fed Funds management. Externally, the RM will act as a trusted advisor, delivering strategic insights, market expertise, and tailored solutions to meet client needs. Internally, the individual must be able to work with credit administration to maintain an acceptable level of risk and controls within the portfolio. In addition to credit monitoring and sales, the individual will act as a liaison to specialty departments, such as Global Banking and Northland Securities, ensuring adequate implementation of new and existing products. This individual is also anticipated to work with FNBO's Compliance team to ensure necessary regulatory compliance is being met.

About This Role:

Job Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Drive new client acquisition in targeted segments and geographies, while serving as the primary point of contact for assigned financial institution clients.
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with senior executives, decision-makers, and product specialists within client organizations, proactively identifying client needs and align them with appropriate product solutions.
  • Partner with credit approvers to assess and manage client creditworthiness, ensuring an acceptable level of risk in the portfolio. Ensure adherence to all compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate the current product suite to ensure alignment with client needs and market trends. Champion the development and implementation of new products and services as needed.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, treasury & liquidity management, fed funds markets, global banking services products, the associated credit risk of those products.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team, and manage multiple complex client relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Understanding of financial institution regulatory frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (business, finance, accounting, economics, etc..)
  • 10+ years of direct experience managing financial institutions relationships at a global or regional bank
  • Demonstrated ability to work with credit teams to assess and manage client risk
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams
  • Willingness to spearhead the effort to "productize" select solutions, increasing the ability to sell and service said solutions

Desired:

  • Active SIE, 79 and 63 licenses
  • Established network of senior-level contacts within financial Institutions
  • Proven track record of exceeding performance goals
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $105,443.00-$179,253.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
