Come join our team on a new contract supporting a joint customer Program Office responsible for acquiring the future GEOINT Ground Architecture that will provide the user community with capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity-based intelligence information.

As a Systems Engineer focusing on Ground Systems and DoD Integration - Special Projects, you will be an integral member of our contractor team, and you will play a critical role in supporting systems engineering and integration efforts within a dynamic and mission-driven Intelligence Community customer environment. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance, adherence to requirements, and alignment with overarching program objectives. The Systems Engineer will work closely with program managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that meet mission needs.

The Special Projects role is a dynamic and forward-thinking position within the organization, designed to address unique and innovative initiatives that fall outside of standard operational workflows. The individual in this role will serve as a catalyst for identifying, developing, and implementing special projects that contribute to the strategic vision and operational efficiency of the organization. This position is critical to driving innovation and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of emerging technologies and methodologies. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Project Development and Execution:
    • Lead the identification, planning, and execution of special projects that align with organizational goals and priorities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
    • Develop AI-driven solutions, such as advanced algorithms or tools, to improve internal processes and decision-making.
  2. Forward-Looking Innovation:
    • Serve as a forward-looking resource, identifying future opportunities for improvement and innovation.
    • Research and integrate emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices into project designs.
    • Provide recommendations to leadership on how to enhance systems and processes for long-term success.
  3. Problem Solving and Analysis:
    • Address gaps or challenges within the organization by developing actionable solutions.
    • Analyze user feedback, system performance, and organizational needs to inform project priorities.
    • Foster creative problem-solving approaches to address unmet requirements or inefficiencies.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including systems engineers, data analysts, and program managers, to ensure project success.
    • Coordinate with external stakeholders and vendors as needed to execute initiatives.
    • Act as a bridge between strategic planning and tactical execution, ensuring alignment across teams.
  5. Outcome Measurement and Reporting:
    • Establish metrics to evaluate the success and impact of special projects.
    • Provide detailed reports and presentations to leadership on project progress and results.
    • Identify lessons learned and integrate them into future initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with Poly
  • BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 10+
  • Demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end systems engineering and integration lifecycle and the processes, tools, and artifacts used in the development and management of complex systems, including requirements management and analysis, architecture, system design, implementation, verification, validation, test, transition to operations, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, data science, and systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with tools and methodologies related to project management, AI/ML algorithms, and data analytics.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to envision long-term opportunities and align projects to organizational objectives, and experience in identifying and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, and strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex ideas and present findings.
  • Working knowledge of SAFe agile methodology, agile planning and management concepts, and Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)

Strongly Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with GEOINT systems
  • Familiarity with ground systems
  • Experience in Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) environments
