The Applications Support Specialist will provide first and second level support and troubleshooting for Avantor/VWR digital ecommerce applications as well as be a liaison between the Help Desk and Tier 3 (Level 3) development / technical teams.

Who you are:

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associates, Technical school, or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience: 2-4 years' applicable experience

Who you are:

  • Intermediate understanding of PCs, Operating Systems, networks, servers, and databases
  • PC and application troubleshooting skills
  • Stress management - necessary to provide good customer service and stay motivated; acquired by experience, world view, and predisposition
  • Organization - necessary in order to manage open cases, escalated cases, and follow up; acquired by experience and predisposition
  • Customer service - necessary to provide quality customer experience and help customers through their computer problems; acquired by experience, world view, and predisposition
  • Communication - necessary to communicate effectively with customers and department/team members; acquired through formal education and experience
  • Prioritization - necessary to balance incoming incidents with follow-up; acquired by experience and predisposition
  • Multi-tasking - necessary to manage a high workload by performing more than one task at a time; an acquired by experience and predisposition
  • Very good business writing and other communication skills
  • Leadership and training skills

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • Customer-facing communication, supporting Digital Applications
  • Responds to incoming requests via phone, email, voice mail, and Intranet forms during busy periods of the day.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves advanced and/or escalated support problems.
  • Updates open cases and contact customers for case follow up.
  • Works with other technical development/support teams on system testing, diagnosing problems, and special projects.
  • Trains and mentors new hires and Level 1 team members.
  • Attend Team and Department meetings and training sessions.
  • Communicate with managers, leads, and technicians of other teams to resolve support issues within SLO timeframes and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Write process and informational documentation for team, department, and customers.
  • Diagnoses and resolve process improvement opportunities to ensure continued quality.
  • Interviews candidates for open positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
