Head of Teaching and Learning University Libraries Position Overview The Head of Teaching and Learning leads a team of professionals to work collaboratively to develop, implement, and maintain a library-wide program, both online and in person, of teaching and learning services and initiatives to support the curricular, co-curricular, and academic activities of the Ohio State University faculty, researchers, and students. This includes overseeing the development of learning outcomes, instructional content and programming, and the assessment of student learning and satisfaction; creating and implementing strategies that align the Libraries' teaching and learning activities with the University's priorities of access, affordability, and excellence; looking for opportunities to work with campus-level and departmental curricula around the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education; continuing partnerships with the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI)/Ohio State Online (OSO), the Drake Institute for Teaching & Learning, the Office of Student Academic Success; and identifying opportunities for collaboration with other campus units sponsoring teaching and learning initiatives. The incumbent leads efforts to support the three focus areas within the department of teaching and learning that include: undergraduate teaching and engagement, instructor development, and Ask Us services including peer-to-peer coaching. The successful candidate is a team player who advances ongoing working relationships with colleagues across The Ohio State University Libraries. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Research and Education (R&E) and serves on the R&E division leadership team, R&E Heads. Additional Information The budget for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications.
