Job Overview

The Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Komatsu equipment sales administration, including quotations, warranties, purchases, and sales processing. This role ensures accurate sales documentation, inventory control, and effective coordination between sales, service, and vendors. The Manager also leads pricing negotiations, manages OEM relationships, and supports sales training and customer events to drive business performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Job Responsibilities


  • Manage and process all equipment sales transactions in coordination with Territory Managers, Project Managers, and PSSRs, ensuring accuracy and profitability.



  • Oversee pricing strategies using Komatsu programs (SPARS, KF, discretionary funds) and provide pricing for non-Komatsu equipment and attachments.



  • Participate in managing inventory levels for equipment and attachments, including consignment equipment and rental fleet coordination.



  • Negotiate pricing and purchasing of inventory with OEMs to ensure competitive and cost-effective acquisition.



  • Purchase and process extended warranties for Komatsu rental fleet machines and provide warranty quotes for employees.



  • Organize and support special sales events, including customer demo days, trade shows (MinExpo, ConExpo), and customer appreciation functions.



  • Supervise the Sales Coordinator in processing, reconciling, and maintaining equipment acquisition records.



  • Collaborate with accounting and inventory management on forecasting, inventory counts, and reporting accuracy.



Qualifications/Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.



  • 10+ years of related experience in equipment sales, administration, or a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.



  • Proven ability to negotiate with OEMs and vendors on pricing and terms.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.



  • Proficiency with database, ERP, and order processing systems; experience with CDK and sales support programs preferred.



  • Demonstrated customer service orientation, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure.



  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including occasional travel and events.



Additional Information


Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $115,000-120,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
