JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Pennsylvania State University Libraries seek applicants for the position of Part-Time Records Center Specialist, a role that has primary responsibility for assisting in operation of the Inactive Records Center (IRC) as part of the Office of Records Management. This specific position will focus on the secure disposition, destruction and shredding of University Records sent directly from offices, retained in storage, or received from the blue/white confidential shredding program for paper records and physical media. This includes using industrial shredders; moving 40 lb. boxes, 100-250 lbs. bins/carts, and skids/pallets loaded with boxed records; and using a lift for placing boxes on shelving.
The person appointed to this position will work under the direction of the University Records Management Officer and in close collaboration with additional Records Center staff. Secondarily, this position will coordinate with the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) for deliveries and receiving shipments. And lastly, the position may assist the team of Records Analysts when needed along with any other University staff serving Records Management functions and University Archives colleagues. This position requires 100% on-site presence at the assigned work location in State College, PA.

Compensation: The starting rate for this job is $12/hr.
