WEST CENTRAL RESEARCH AND OUTREACH CENTER
College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS)

Job duties
Deposits (20%)- Prepare and submit departmental deposits, primarily check deposits so as to ensuring same-day completion, documentation, and approvals. This includes but is not limited to:
* Gift fund deposits
* Agricultural commodity sales
* Insurance payments

Financial processing and vendor payments (40%) utilizing various approved bill payment methods that may include payment card transactions, Purchase Orders, and Supplier invoices.
This may include:
* Processing utility and other vendor payments that may be regular monthly and seasonal / periodic vendor payments
* Routing vendor invoices by both electronic and postal means
* Scan and distribute specific invoices to the appropriate team leader for payment
* Submit new supplier setups & process supplier information changes.
* Provide W9 and ST3 tax forms to employees or suppliers upon request
* Prepare conditional checks for signature as necessary
* Prepare necessary paperwork for bid requests

Payment card guidance & administration (30%)
* Communicate purchasing card policy reminders regarding prohibited purchases, exceptions, and documentation
* Distribute payment card applications
* Process payment card receipts

Other administrative duties (10%)
* Monitor and maintain center faculty and staff driver's license records and communicate related vehicle policy information and awareness
* Assist in supporting center outreach events and public engagements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma/GED and a minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and-/- or administration.
* Must be proficient using common computer hardware and software.
* Must have demonstrated proficiency within the last 5 years in processing financial transactions.
* Ability to work in teams and work collaboratively

Desired Qualifications:
* Have demonstrated proficiency within the last 5 years in using financial software packages.
* Appreciation for agricultural-related and research activities.

About the Department

The University of Minnesota's West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) is located in Morris, MN. The WCROC is part of the University of MN College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences providing a tradition of excellence in applied agricultural research and education for farmers and rural communities in crop production, animal sciences, horticulture, water quality, organic and conventional dairy, swine production, and renewable energy.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.54 - $31.50; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
