Software Engineer (Full Stack/DevOps Focus) w/Poly

BigBear.ai is seeking a Software Engineer to support a bespoke data analysis platform for users tackling ever-evolving challenges. In this role, you will leverage your software development and system administration skills to manage cloud-based servers, develop and maintain operational software, and provide exceptional customer service. You will work directly alongside the customer, rotating between multiple sites to engage with the entire user base. This position offers opportunities for growth in frontend development, workflow innovation, and leadership responsibilities.

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to deliver mission-critical solutions.
• Develop Python applications to perform user and data management tasks.
• Create and maintain Ansible playbooks to deploy and manage upwards of 50 servers.
• Adapt the platform to meet evolving mission requirements.
• Elicit requirements and gather feedback directly from users to improve the platform.
• Assist users in utilizing the platform and support their script and process development efforts.

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 8+ years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph (required).
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python, Django, SQL, Ansible, Git, Linux, Redis, and Nginx.
  • Basic experience working in Linux environments, including running and troubleshooting servers.
• Soft Skills:
  • Experience interacting directly with customers to gather requirements and provide support.

• Experience with JavaScript for frontend development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring or managing teams.
