Description Professional - Nonclinical Req #: 46541 Summary: Research Project Coordinator Co-Op - Spring 2026 Duration:6-month term About the Position We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our Palliative Care Team at MaineHealth Medical Group for a 6-month term beginning Spring 2026. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting all aspects of our research project focused on implementing an innovative AI training platform for Advanced Care Planning. The co-op will support from initial planning through execution to final reporting. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in research administration, project management, and academic writing. This is a part time, 20 hour/week opportunity. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary coordinator for all research project activities and timelines
- Draft and assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) application materials
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including research protocols and procedures
- Schedule and coordinate research activities, team meetings, and participant sessions
- Assist with participant recruitment and management
- Help collect, organize, and analyze research feedback and data
- Support the research team with literature reviews and background research as needed
- Contribute to writing up research findings for reports, presentations, or publications
- Track project budget and resources
- Manage and disseminate communication with all stakeholders
Qualifications Required
- Currently enrolled in agraduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Clinical Research, or related disciplines)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated interest in research methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite or equivalent software
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications Preferred
- Previous experience with research projects or academic writing
- Familiarity with IRB processes and human subjects research ethics
- Knowledge of data collection methods and basic data analysis
- Experience with project management tools or methodologies
- Understanding of research design principles

- Education: Undergraduate degree required. Master's degree preferred or currently enrolled in a graduate program in a relevant field (Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Clinical Research, or related disciplines).
