Description
Technical Support/Problem Solving
- Technical resource for trouble shooting and root cause analysis of internal and customer issues.
- Conducts business transition meetings and integrates into our processes.
- Leads trial and first time runs, monitors results and feedback. Suggests improvements.
- Resource for decision-making on releasing of orders.
- Leads on new customer approval/transitions.
Continuous Improvement
- Leads customer feedback process for the organization.
- Identify trends, recommend and participate in the implementation of solutions to issues.
- Enter, monitor and close out customer, internal and audit issues.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of nonconforming material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends.
Quality Management System (Product Safety & Quality)
- Implement the plan of control philosophy.
- Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, material and products.
- Ensure procedures are established and implemented to meet the requirements of SQF/ISO.
- Implement new and revised procedures to strengthen the effectiveness of the QMS.
- Monitor performance of quality management system to ensure effectiveness.
- Review and update standard operation procedures or quality assurance manuals.
- Provide support to other departments to improve the quality management system.
- Conducts vendor certification audits as well as monitoring and documenting results.
Training
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality activities and internal processes.
- Present quality training, trends and feedback at company meetings.
- Assess quality training needs, conduct training and provide re-training if requested by department managers.
- Champions the Employee Qualification Standard (EQS) method of training and documents progressions and results.
Other duties
- Works with Plant Floor Supervisors and lead operators to drive quality.
- Works with SQF Practitioner to ensure all current certifications and registrations are maintained.
- Will train and be prepared to back-up the Production Planner.
- Will be on the floor 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Quality Manager or Technician in a manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge in the areas of ISO9001, SQF, 5S, Lean Manufacturing or six sigma.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer knowledge.
- Experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
