GMS and its family of companies operate a network of nearly 300 building product distribution yards, and more than 100 tool sales and service centers, for customers across the U.S. and Canada. The Field Support Center in Tucker, Georgia serves each GMS location, providing the support needed to enable local teams to deliver outstanding service to contractors and builders in their local communities.

Position Summary:


The Marketing Specialist role will juggle a variety of marketing projects and is essential in developing and enhancing our day-to-day marketing operations, managing digital platforms, and maintaining our content and communications infrastructure across a wide network of brands and locations in the US and Canada.



Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Strategically propose and create marketing campaigns
  • Plan, create and publish content for 40+ external websites and social media profiles
  • Manage multiple marketing systems, such as Cvent, Chatmeter and Content Management System (CMS) platforms
  • Develop event web pages, create email templates and manage data in the Cvent platform
  • Platform administrator for Chatmeter, troubleshooting and ensuring local listings are accurate and optimized
  • Analyze and create reports on the performance of social media campaigns and content
  • Lead the intake and triage of marketing requests from field teams and internal departments
  • Manage inbound requests via marketing help tickets and shared marketing inboxes
  • Maintain current and create new content across multiple marketing CMS platforms
  • Manage the master list of location data across websites and local listing platforms
  • Partner with broader marketing team on communication efforts that align social messaging and ensure brand consistency across locations
  • Manage and update internal Intranet pages



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, majoring in Marketing, Communications, Business or related area of study
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in in a marketing, communications, or operations support role
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) preferred but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint site preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with local listing management and reputation monitoring
  • Familiarity with Cvent or other event management platforms
  • Working knowledge of social media management tools and content planning
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail
  • Intermediate Skills in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
