Job Description:

The Manager Talent Acquisition Pipelines is responsible for designing and executing enterprise-wide talent strategies that build sustainable and inclusive pipelines across talent segments. This role leads programs such as D225, Internships, College Direct Hire, adult job seeker and K-12 engagement. The manager partners closely with business leaders to forecast talent needs, influence workforce planning, and deliver innovative pipelining solutions. This role also champions inclusion, strengthens Southwest Airlines' employer brand, and leverages data insights to inform strategic decisions. Success in this role requires a strong ability to influence across levels, delegate effectively, and think systemically to drive long-term talent outcomes.

Job Summary

  • The Manager, Talent Acquisition role is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing talent acquisition and recruitment processes. This role involves leading efforts to recruit and hire top talent, champion diversity and inclusion, and build innovative talent strategies. It also includes creating a strong brand and value proposition to attract top talent and managing full-cycle recruitment for Southwest Airlines. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for identifying ongoing recruitment resources and analyzing relevant data and trends to inform talent strategy decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a partner to hiring managers, delivering a great experience to both Candidates and Hiring Managers
  • Execute and enhance SWA's recruiting strategy to attract top talent across various functions and geographies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and hiring managers to effectively understand their talent needs, priorities, and business objectives
  • Manage relationships with external organizations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and outsourcing to meet talent acquisition and workforce hiring goals
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in recruiting and talent acquisition and build strategies that enable adaptation to acquire top talent
  • Anticipate needs, forecast staffing shortages, and formulate proactive short and long-term strategies to meet organizational needs
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment Marketing team to ensure consistency in employer branding messaging across all channels
  • Lead recruiting teams and provide mentorship, coaching, and development
  • Establish goals and metrics for the recruitment team and conduct 'Check-Ins' to monitor team performance
  • Coach and advise individual contributors on the development of competencies and skills needed to achieve Employee needs and future career aspirations
  • Report and manage weekly, quarterly, and regular key metrics and indicators related to sourcing and retention
  • Analyze recruitment data and metrics to continuously evaluate and improve recruiting processes and outcomes
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership on the annual operating budget and plan resources to execute hiring goals
  • Participate in strategic discussions with key internal and external partners to remain innovative and forward-looking with talent acquisition processes, tools, and sourcing
  • Build and maintain recruiting policies, procedures, and training processes to enhance recruiting effectiveness
  • Leverage EEO/AAP/compliance strategies and goals to ensure EEO compliance and diversity goal achievement
  • Represent Southwest Airlines at industry specific events by strategizing attendance schedules, setting up and taking down, and preparing presentations to build a positive brand and source Candidates
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, program management, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources
  • Knowledge of the applicant tracking system, and other relevant recruitment and sourcing technologies
  • Knowledge of data-driven approach to building recruitment processes and reporting for scale
  • Ability to develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies
  • Ability to handle and resolve complex issues and interface well with people at all levels within the Company
  • Ability to inspire, coach, develop, and manage a team
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills across all levels of the organization
  • Skilled in collaborating and problem solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in using data and analytics to drive decisions and measure success
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and opportunities of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
    • Human Resources (i.e. recruiting, or related field), strategy, planning, and project management
    • Principles, practices, and techniques of effective recruiting and talent acquisition
  • Preferred experience using Workday, Phenom, and/or Quickbase program

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $122,200 per year to $135,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
