DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform light maintenance, repair tasks, and general custodial duties for the upkeep of buildings and grounds at the Department Headquarters. You will paint interior and exterior surfaces, repair concrete sidewalks and curbs, and install or repair doors, tiles, and roofing. You will also clean restrooms, empty trash and recyclable receptacles, and assist with the loading or unloading of supplies, deliveries, equipment, and furniture. This role requires thorough knowledge in a variety of trades and the ability to determine what resources will be required to complete assignments. In addition, you will clear walkways of snow and ice, mow lawns, trim hedges, and repair or install plumbing fixtures. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes)..

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
