The Production Support Developer is part of a cross-functional team delivering robust, scalable, and innovative software solutions. This team focuses on improving efficiency, enhancing user experiences, and ensuring system reliability through continuous development and improvement.

TheProduction Support Developeris a hybrid role responsible for both developing and maintaining high-quality software systems and ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical applications in acloud-based production environmentfor a leading dental and vision insurance provider.

This position requires a strong foundation in software development and a proactive approach to production support. The ideal candidate will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain software solutions, contribute independently to projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize development processes.
  • Provide production support, including advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, and proactive monitoring to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Collaborate across teams, acting as a bridge between development, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Utilize insurance or claims management experienceto better understand business needs and deliver effective technical solutions.

This role offers a dynamic blend of hands-on coding and operational oversight, ideal for someone who thrives in both development and support environments.

Competencies:

Functional:

  • Develop, test, and deploy software solutions based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to refine requirements and design test scenarios.
  • Optimize code for performance and maintainability.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for production applications, resolving incidents, and ensuring timely escalation when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and application alerts to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze application-related issues including errors, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
  • Participate in deployment and post-release support for new application features and updates.
  • Maintain and update application documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with SLA/OLA and reporting of production incidents and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 production support coverage.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation related to production systems and troubleshooting.

Core:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret application logs.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data investigation and validation.
  • Experience developing and integrating .NET APIs
  • Ability to work independently and manage deliverables.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (C, C#, JavaScript)
  • Expertise in designing scalable and maintainable system architectures.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities for complex problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development
  • 3-5 years of SQL experience
  • 3-5 Years developing Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs
  • 3-5 years of experience with Windows application support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with developing and supporting EDI transactions
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Previous experience in IT support roles.

In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A:$67,490.00-$112,490.00 Zone B:$73,550.00-$122,580.00 Zone C:$79,190.00-$131,990.00 FLSA Status:Salary/Exempt

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, and commission.
