Summary The Warehouse / Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the dock, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. This role serves as a key liaison between production departments, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of production workers on assigned shift.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to meet targets.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members to improve performance and skill development.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate goals, issues, and updates.
- Inspect products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of production, attendance, and incidents.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Other duties assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret production documents and safety guidelines.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and production tracking software.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a fast-paced, noisy, and temperature-variable environment.
- Use of PPE as required.
Competencies:
- Teamwork & Relationship Building
- Ability to read and operate a weight scale
- Ability to read and understand unit measurements (lbs. ft., etc.)
- Basic writing, reading and math skills (addition, subtraction, etc.)
- Reliability and punctuality
- Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend, twist, squat, stand, walk, kneel, multiple times per day.
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
