The Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for the technical oversight and system maintenance related to Integrations, complex reports and dashboards across Workday and downstream environments. Works closely with functional business areas as the technical resource to analyze, suggest and troubleshoot issues and new requests. Works closely with other System Engineer and Analyst peers on cross-functional enhancements, implementations and issues.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for more than 100 Workday integrations.
  • Provide mentorship to more junior engineers.
  • Lead the research, design, development, testing, and delivery of new Workday Integrations.
  • Create detailed design documents to support the integration development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with business units on the design, development, and testing of integrations.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors on the design, development, and testing of integrations.
  • Investigate and resolve integration failures (including documenting the root cause).
  • Investigate and resolve security (access) issues related to integrations.
  • Provide on-call support for critical integration issues.
  • Understand how data flows between internal systems, external systems, and Workday.
  • Develop processes for proactively monitoring integrations.
  • Create and execute strategies for R1 and R2 releases to ensure a seamless transition for integrations.
  • Understand and follow Data Governance policies.
  • Understand and follow Software Development standards and best-practices.
  • Understand and follow security and data privacy standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of Workday modules (HCM, Supply Chain, Finance, Payroll), preferably significant expertise in at least one of these modules.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Workday integrations.
  • 3+ years of experience and fluency in utilizing Workday Studio.
  • 3+ years of experience and fluency in XML, XSLT, XPath, Web Services, SOAP, WSDL, XSD
  • 3+ years of experience with EIB, studio, core connector, cloud connector, BIRT, report writer, business processes, calculated fields, and security groups
  • Prior completion of Workday Integration training is strongly preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).

Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong technical experience with Java.
  • Experience following a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Basic understanding of database design and architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
