The Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance and Metrology is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring all facility systems, critical utilities, process and laboratory instrumentation are maintained in a state of control and full compliance with cGMP and GDP requirements. The incumbent will lead a multi-disciplined technical team across multiple sites. This position combines oversight of facility operations and maintenance with comprehensive calibration and instrumentation management, unifying two previously separate disciplines into a high-performing, cohesive team. The incumbent will ensure all systems and equipment critical to sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing-including pure steam, WFI, purified water, HVAC, chillers, filling lines, lyophilizers, autoclaves, nitrogen and clean compressed air systems, as well as analytical and microbiology lab equipment-are maintained to the highest standards of reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Build, develop, and lead a unified facilities, calibration, and instrumentation team.
- Hire, train, mentor, evaluate staff; conduct evaluations and manage corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, reliability-centered maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all maintenance and calibrations of GMP-critical systems: HVAC, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pure steam, WFI, purified water, nitrogen, clean compressed air, and waste.
- Drive team excellence for facility shutdowns; manage calibrations, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
- Manage calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation for all critical instrumentation including complex analytical and microbiology laboratory equipment. Act as administrator for all laboratory equipment.
- Ensure calibrations meet NIST traceable standards; maintain calibration database and manage certificates.
- Drive team safety by ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and company policies.
- Drive compliance: author and approve GMP documentation, lead investigations, CAPAs, audit responses.
- Utilize CMMS/Asset Management to maximize uptime, manage spare parts, and maintain audit readiness, and review maintenance and calibration records.
- Drive vendor negotiations and service contracts that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
COMMUNICATIONS & CONTACTS
- Interacts with all departmental staff, as well as site leadership team
- Ensure alignment with PCI corporate initiatives through communication and direct involvement
- Will interact with clients as part of routine audits
- Coordinate, lead, and drive various utility and equipment projects (full lifecycle)
MANAGERIAL & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of technical experts across a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to, laboratory instrumentation, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical systems and the preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance and calibration methodologies thereof.
- Manage day-to-day activity of the team, provide guidance, training, feedback, coaching, mentoring, and discipline as directed by senior management and/or company policy.

EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree in technical discipline such as engineering, chemistry, or biology required
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a technical field with demonstrated facilities maintenance and calibration experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (vendor, client, and customer facing)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a technical team
- Experience working in an aseptic manufacturing environment preferred
- Applicable industry licensure and/or certifications (OSHA 10-hour, CESCP, EPA certification, etc.) a plus
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent documentation skills
