UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies seeks a Student Success Coach to support students on their journey from admission to program completion. The School helps working adults finish their degrees and advance their careers through a variety of online and in-person programs including bachelor's degree completion, professional certificates, a master's in public safety, and other career accelerators. The Student Success Coach will serve as a key point of contact for students from the point of admission through program completion, with a goal of improving the student experience and ability to persist and complete programs. Responsibilities: Build a relationship with assigned students and serve as a trusted resource of information and guidance. Perform proactive outreach to students to streamline the student journey, with a particular focus on those who appear to be struggling academically or are in danger of melting or not reenrolling. Collaborate with SCPS and university stakeholders, including program directors and coordinators and university offices, to support student success and work toward solutions for struggling students. Manage transfer credit requests for certificate programs. Track retention and completion rates, along with other relevant data, for SCPS programs and adjust outreach and support efforts in response. Provide feedback to and collaborate with recruitment, admissions, registration, financial, academic and marketing teams, as needed, to support student needs. Build and run special events and manage student groups as needed. Additional responsibilities as needed. The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for remote or hybrid work. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred At least two years of experience; experience in recruitment, admissions, student coaching, advising, career services or related fields preferred Preference for experience working with adult and nontraditional students Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex or nuanced matters Experience with CRM; Slate helpful Experience working across departments or units to meet student needs Ability to meet competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy A proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team A belief in the mission of SCPS to help working adults finish their degrees and advance their careers.
