What We're Looking For: A Sushi Chef capable of preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. What You'll Do:
- Prepare sushi and sashimi dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all sushi ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi station and equipment
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques
- Collaborate with culinary leadership on menu development and seasonal offerings
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
- Provide personable service to guests when applicable
- Report equipment maintenance needs and ensure proper functioning of tools
- Participate in kitchen opening and closing procedures
- Support cost control measures and minimize waste
- Attend required hotel meetings and training sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Qualifications Include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sushi preparation, preferably in an upscale hotel or restaurant
- Strong knowledge of sushi techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and push carts up to 200 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- High school diploma required; culinary certification preferred
