Position Title: Sr. Occupational Health Nurse
Work Location: O'Fallon, MO 63368
Assignment Duration: 2+ Months
Shift: Part Time (work 24 hours a week)
Note: Candidates can choose any three days to work, except Fridays, as manufacturing at the O'Fallon site typically does not operate on Fridays.
Position Summary: The Sr. Occupational Health Nurse assesses the health needs of the employee population and worksite, ensuring health programs are in accordance to company policy, standards and applicable laws.
Background & Context: Employees in the 3 St. Louis facilities and, Surgical and Field Sales. Also communicate with other internal our organization occupational health and EHS&S professionals; external health care providers; and insurance administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement site Wellness Programs and Health Care Initiatives.
- Case Management: Manage all cases to facilitate productivity, assuring appropriate care and return to work, including workers' compensation, family medical leave, ADAs, short/ long-term disability cases
- Assess healthcare needs, then implement and manage healthcare programs to improve health and facilitate return to work, maintain worker medical files
Qualification & Experience:
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and active Missouri State license as a registered nurse
- Preferred Education: BSN
- Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Federal and State regulations applicable to occupational health, as well as environment, health and safety
- Ability to work with a team &/or independently
- Ability to make independent nursing judgements, perform basic physical assessments, problem solve and have strong time management skills
- Strong computer, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work assignments Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills are essential in the use of electronic medical recordkeeping. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. Other Skills and Abilities: Must be detail oriented, excellent communication skills, have the ability to multitask and possess great interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in occupational health nursing &/or case management
- Experience in community health, ambulatory care, critical care or emergency nursing
- Certifications in occupational health nursing and case management
- CPR and basic life support provider and Instructor certification
- NIOSH (spirometry) & CAOHC (hearing conservation) certification
