We have an opening for a Production Coordinator at our nVent Greenville, PA facility (formerly ILSCO Extrusions), that specializes in extruded and fabricated aluminum componentry for intercompany use and external third-party customers. This position reports to the Materials Manager and will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the flow of materials in a synchronized manner through the facility to meet established production goals. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Use make-to-order process manufacturing tools and systems to create, enter, monitor, and close out work orders for multiple departments in support of customer on-time delivery commitments, high product quality standards, and safe operating policies and practices
- Collect data and measure performance related to production efficiency and yield based on established product standards
- Participate in and make recommendations for continuous process improvements to reduce costs, improve quality, and eliminate safety hazards
- Routinely compare work center capacity against scheduled workloads to predict lead times for orders and collaborate with manufacturing management to sequence work or find alternative means and methods to meet customer needs
- Manage and perform cycle counts and physical inventory verifications for materials
- Work closely with manufacturing supervisors and shop floor team to coordinate time and tempo of activities that ensure smooth material flow, efficient use of resources, and safe working conditions
- Collaborate with procurement to requisition materials and packaging needs for scheduled work
YOU HAVE:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with Planning and Inventory Control background in manufacturing
- Experience in manufacturing, with preference provided for aluminum extrusion and other make-to-order industry experience
- Ability to effectively organize, plan and work in a self-directed manner
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others
- Experience reading blueprints and solving problems
- High attention to detail and able to process significant amounts of information
- Solid math skills
- Strong skills using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and various ERP systems
