The Position

At Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG), we are determined to transform drug development and realize our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden by 2029. We are looking for a Global Operations Asset Leader to lead and drive the operational delivery of one (or more) of our assets. This people leadership position holds significant accountability for clinical operations strategy and execution as well as enterprise collaboration.

PD's mission is to improve patients' lives around the world through unique medicines that have a meaningful impact. Cross functionally we conduct global clinical trials, analyze results, monitor safety, and work with regulatory authorities to provide truly differentiated medicines to patients. Our primary disease focus areas are Oncology, Hematology, Neurology, Immunology, Ophthalmology, Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CVRM). The Global Operations Asset Leader (GOAL) in PDG at Roche/Genentech is accountable and responsible for the clinical operations delivery of one or more assets in line with budget, timelines and quality expectations, including timely and accurate data entry in our systems at both a study and asset level. One asset comprises multiple clinical studies.

The GOAL is accountable for delivering an Asset's portfolio of clinical studies within a TA/DA through architecting and translating the overall operational strategy and business needs, in partnership with the appropriate Therapeutic Area and Disease Area Leaders, Country leaders and other key PDG and enterprise senior stakeholders. The Operations Asset Leader will represent the PDG perspective at the Global Development and Lifecycle Teams and will develop and continuously adapt the Asset strategy and tactics to ensure the overall clinical operations delivery meets or exceeds delivery expectations.

The Opportunity:

  • Driving department-wide engagement by fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance while championing inclusion and belonging. Inspire, motivate, and develop talent within the team, ensuring a focus on individual growth and leadership development to build a strong, elevated talent pipeline aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Regular year-round assessment of performance, contributions, and impact and providing feedback, coaching, and performance management.

  • Manages 8-10 direct reports, including other people leaders.

  • Leading by example in demonstrating and championing inclusive behaviors in your team, PDG, PD, and the Roche Enterprise. Provide opportunities for growth and development for all team members and address any barriers that may exist.

  • People management-related administration (e.g. Workday People & Culture Management system tasks) and contact for employment-related matters.

Who You are:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or Registered Nurse (RN) degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • You have 10+ years pharmaceutical Clinical Operations experience with operations leadership at the program or asset level.

  • You have strong demonstrable operational awareness including external trends and issues in the global Clinical trials landscape, and development and delivery of large endpoint driven clinical trials

  • You have comprehensive understanding of global Pharma Clinical development in international settings

  • You have demonstrated success using analytics and data-driven decision-making in strategy development and execution

  • You have a track record of expanding access to underserved populations

  • You have experience in leading in a large matrixed organization and in leading a group of direct reports

  • You have a demonstrated ability to lead and work in a- dynamic multi function environment including effectiveness when working across teams

  • You proactively seek to lead and manage individuals and teams to higher performance.

  • You recruit and develop high-performing talent.

  • You are fluent in verbal and written English. Other language skills may be an asset

  • You are willing to travel (nationally or internationally) at times. The amount may vary with the role, location and business needs.

Relocation benefits are not being offered for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $215,000 - $399,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
