Position Summary:

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center provides health care services to pediatric patients in a combined pediatric emergency/trauma-acute care unit and the Newborn Nursery under the direction and responsibility of a physician. The APP will need to be adaptable and work collaboratively with the physician to provide comprehensive care to a pediatric patient population that may have complex psycho-social needs, non-English speaking and/or lowincome patients/families requiring extra support and education. The Peds ED / Inpatient Unit has 5 ED rooms, a trauma room and 9 inpatient rooms. Conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, counsels on preventative care assists in trauma and critical care, and writes prescriptions as needed. Completion of Masters or Doctorate PNP or PA program, certification, and state licensure required.

Education/Work Experience:

Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Masters or Doctorate in Nursing, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care or Bachelor's (Master's degree preferred) degree in a Physician Assistant Program.

Shift:

6 a.m. - 12 a.m.

No overnights. Including weekends and rotating holidays.

Licensure/Certifications

Maryland CRNA or PA license. Maryland CDS permit. DEA license. ACLS, AHA CPR card

Experience: Six months of experience is required. Two (2) years' experience is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 58.60/hour - Maximum 90.83/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
