What to Expect
Tesla Energy's Customer Operations Quality Department is dedicated to enhancing the residential energy business through continuous improvement of process and product quality. This role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, addressing quality issues through structured problem-solving, and driving relentless improvement with a strong customer-focused mindset. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to review defects, establish control plans, and improve customer experience by leveraging data-driven insights and innovative methods.
What You'll Do
- Create process maps and models to inform rigorous process simulations
- Conduct structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to identify, contain, and resolve quality escapes
- Lead and maintain PFMEAs, audit, and control plans to determine potential risks and drive resolution of high-risk issues into process controls
- Analyze data from across the Tesla ecosystem to expose, highlight, and evaluate process trends
- Gather and analyze customer comments and metric trends to suggest tangible improvements
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance customer experience
- Track quality performance metrics and drive improvement activities with cross-functional teams
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Process Engineer in an operations environment
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically (5-10%)
- Knowledge of residential energy systems and voice of customer methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated analytical skills with knowledge of SQL, Python, or R as an advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends and patterns
