What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to join our Energy, New Product Introduction (NPI) team. Items critical to the success of the NPI Technical Program Manager include supporting Engineering prototype A and B build phases, which involve operations support and coordination, managing validation trial requests, and ramp planning. The role also entails leading C and D build phases, encompassing core team leadership, program scheduling, build planning, materials coordination, build execution, allocation management, and issue tracking. Additionally, the NPI Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring their direct reports, helping them grow both personally and professionally. Another key responsibility is leading changes to sustaining products with minimal interruption to production flow. Success in this role requires understanding available resources and allocating them appropriately, recognizing how decisions in one area impact other departments and operational goals, tracking details and managing actions to closure, and ensuring cross-functional team adherence to NPI processes and procedures. This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) and will require 90% travel to the Bay Area (CA) to support early builds and validation support for the next 6-12 months. What You'll Do
