Title: Workday Business Analyst - Finance

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Workday Finance Director

PURPOSE

Responsible for evaluating, analyzing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the organizations' Workday Finance system. Ensure system work flows and processes align with business and compliance requirements. Serve as a technical point of contact; work with subject matter experts to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity and workflow efficiency. Give technical guidance and direction to administrative and functional staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports critical system maintenance, tickets and operational tasks within Workday Finance, including researching, testing, and implementing solutions to system problems, unexpected results or process flaws; Translate business objectives and user needs into clearly written technical requirements
  • Maintain finance business processes, data mapping, procedures & systems configuration (e.g. workflow rules, tenant configuration, security, Adaptive budgeting, FDM) and assist with the implementation of business requirements for configuration adjustments.
  • Partner with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for system and process improvement
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders to interpret system change requests; develop actionable steps with focus on process efficiency, effectiveness and user acceptance
  • Evaluate system issues and upgrades (e.g. Workday releases); Present recommendations or alternative methods for resolution to Workday Finance Lead; collaborate with manager to prioritize requests based on rank of optimal value to the organization and strategic initiatives
  • Conduct training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train users and subject matter experts on new processes/functionality
  • Develop and document work flow processes for Finance, cross functional and other relevant transactions. Update documentation as needed, routinely or, with system changes

EXPECTATIONS

  • With respect to Resident Rights, ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
  • Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Sciences or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a functional or technical support role in a customer-focused, fast-paced environment. Prior experience utilizing various ERP systems and applications.

Mental: Must have excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Workday business processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed detail orientation, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong decision making and reasoning skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) or related software.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work well independently and under pressure.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Organize and prioritize work; effectively working both individually and within a team environment.
  • Workday Certification(s) preferred.
