TITLE: QA Specialist B



POSITION OBJECTIVE:This position is responsible with maintaining the SQF Code Standards, GMP Standards and customer-required Product Safety and Quality Standards. Job Function will include all aspects of quality control, testing and related training activities for customer's procedures and specifications; maintenance and enforcement of Minigrip's policies and procedures, and Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures. Major challenges to this position are consistently producing and testing product within the customer specification standards by applying preventive actions and corrective actions prior to shipping; developing and maintaining effective communication between QA and production and working within customer requirements. The effectiveness of this position may be measured by the ratings achieved from First, Second or Third-party quality assurance audits.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • College degree or 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment or being a member of a quality systems staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with auditors and customers in an audit environment
  • Ability to train groups of people
  • Experience in Technical writing - SOP's, Work Instructions, Specifications
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Understand and apply systematic problem-solving skills such as: FMEA, Rood Cause Analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Management Systems- Process, Terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, etc) and computer-based training software.
  • Pallet Jack certification required
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assist in analyzing data by understanding and using basic quality tools, such as; Pareto Diagram, Histograms, Flow Chart, Check Sheet, Cause and Effect Diagram, Trend and Control Charts. Conduct Comparative Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gage R & R studies.
  • Maintain and update records and forms such as: Calibration, SDS, Standard Operating Procedures, and Customer Requirements Specifications.
  • Provide customer feedback and convey information to management, internal and external customers by interpreting results, and summarizing data from a variety of sources in a presentable and professional manner.
  • Accurately use and operate various test equipment such as digital micrometers, digital force gauges, Elmendorf tear tester, tensile strength tester, dart drop, and shadow graphs. Be able to summarize test data and state conclusions to support customer requirements.
  • Ability to assist with the development and maturation of the current (or future) quality systems practiced by our Global Contract Suppliers [Minigrip Thailand, Bag Mart, etc.].
  • Able to obtain certification and act as SQF Practitioner Alternative when needed.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently.
  • Possess basic organizational skills and be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to make decisions based on company policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, ISO 9000, Safety, Health and Environmental and GMP processes.
  • Assist with the completion of all customer related Corrective and Preventative Actions
  • Assist in conducting internal quality assurance audits
  • Ability to communicate Quality and SQF standards to Management and production employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Management
