Minimum Experience/Education
  • Ph.D. (or relevant terminal degree), or Relevant Master's degree with at least 5 years of formal postdegree professional work experience
Department Required Skills

  • Previous experience with Mimulus species propagation and genetic crossing methods
  • Experience with microscopic analysis and DIC imaging techniques
  • Ability to prepare data sets for publication including photoshop, excel, and statistical analysis as needed
  • Lab management skills including previous experience with NCSU safety plans, ordering of reagents, maintaining scientific equipment, etc.
  • Molecular biology skills such as extraction and analysis of DNA and RNA
  • Experience with both quantitative Real time PCR approaches and next gen RNA sequencing approaches

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • Ability to distinguish Mimulus species within the M. cardinalis clade
