SUMMARY: Plans layout, fabricates, installs, and repairs air conditioning systems in Commercial and Industrial applications by performing the following duties: Plans new or modifies installations in a manner consistent with OEM specifications and local applicable codes. Must have the ability to maintain and repair a variety of HVAC equipment including but not limited to Split systems, VAV boxes, Air handlers, Low and High pressure Chillers, Valves, Pumps, Pneumatic Controls, Cooling Towers, Chill water systems, Charge recovery and utilize all types of refrigerants with universal EPA certification. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance. Inspects and measures airflow to determine building requirements. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. HOURS: Must be able to work any shift. 1st shift 6am - 2pm, 2nd shift 2pm - 10pm, 3rd shift 10pm - 6am.
