ReNuke Services is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist for our client"s site in Huntersville, NC

DESCRIPTION:

The standard work schedule is day shift, consisting of four 10-hour days per week.

The top priority for the Major Projects (MMP) organization is Safety and Human Performance. MMP has consistently demonstrated this commitment, maintaining an impressive record of nine years without a recordable injury and two years since the last Human Performance department clock reset.

MMP is currently seeking a full-time Safety Professional to join the team at the Nuclear Station in Huntersville, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience with nuclear generation, as well as familiarity with safety standards compliance pertinent to power generators and construction environments. Key responsibilities include implementing safety protocols established across the nuclear fleet, field observations, compiling data for trending analysis, delivering safety meetings and training sessions. Additional duties include developing Outage Readiness Safety Plans, creating and facilitating a one-hour monthly PowerPoint presentation for MMP Implementation"s Safety and Human Performance (HU) Meeting through Microsoft Teams.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:
* leading MMP compliance with safety standards
* implementing safety protocols initiated by EH&S and regulatory bodies
* field observation activities (approximately 50%)
* behavior coaching and documentation
* innovating new, improved tooling and processes to mitigate safety risks.
* observation data analysis and trend reporting
* creating and facilitating a one-hour monthly PowerPoint presentation for MMP Implementation"s safety and HU Meeting through Microsoft Teams
* developing Outage Readiness Safety Plans
* providing safety training for personnel
* contributing to site-wide safety efforts

Other requirements/skills:
* excellent public speaking and communication skills
* PC proficient with MS Office365 Suite and technical writing
* intuitive learner with ability to apply new software applications
* self-manger, ability to meet deadlines
* ladder climbing and use of fall protection (training provided)
* occasional entry of confined spaces (training provided)
* primary work schedule is Monday-Thursday 10-hour/day schedule
* flexibility to work seasonal overtime, occasional temporary night shift and travel (potentially 5-10%) during periods of high demand
* reliable transportation

Safety Professional Responsibility details:
* Develop and deliver monthly Safety and Human Performance (HU) meeting presentations for MMP Implementation workers using Microsoft Teams.
* Observe field activities to evaluate worker safety and human performance behaviors of electrical and mechanical personnel, i.e., arc flash boundaries, lifting and rigging-material handling crews, welders, equipment operators, and support staff.
* Provide safety oversight for On-Line and Outage Projects.
* Review and update safety procedures to support workers and improve processes.
* Analyze safety observation data, compile reports, and present behavioral trends with site applications such as Power Bi, OpEx, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Lead incident investigation teams through case resolution.
* When injuries occur provide Case management.
* Prepare and conduct safety training for employees and contractors.
* Prepare and facilitate Observation and Coaching training for employees and contractors.
* Ensure MMP complies with relevant regulatory standards, including NRC, OSHA, EPA, and implement applicable changes.
* Monitor and analyze incident metrics.
* Review MMP applications for various permits, including Hot Work, Confined Space, PPE exemptions, and Environmental permits.
* Review of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documentation for all projects.
* Plan safety measures for outage/online projects and develop the annual MMP Safety Improvement Plan.
* Participate on the Site Plant Safety Continuous Improvement Team (CIT).
* Attend leadership safety meetings on behalf of MMP as required.
* Support other sites in the nuclear fleet if needed.
