The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Columbia Dining Services is a dynamic, progressive department in an exciting, fun environment with a customer-focused culture. We have an immediate opening for a Catering Delivery Person.

Reporting to the Manager on duty, the Catering Delivery Person is responsible for the set-up and break-down of events and programs.

Responsibilities



  • Deliver food, beverage and related supplies to catered event buildings before scheduled event start time.
  • Deliver and set up drop-off events before scheduled event start time.
  • Pick up completed events and return food and equipment to the proper area.
  • Directs and/or is assisted by Porters during the prep, execution, and breakdown of a large event or when several events are taking place during the same timeframe.
  • Responsible for the proper transport and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Complete, accurate, comprehensive packing list for drop-off events.
  • Checks delivery of food, beverages, and supplies for order accuracy.
  • Set up coffee stations, bar stations, and cheese and crudite display tables.
  • Set up China service for any meal or reception.
  • Complete all aspects of buffet table set up.
  • Interacts with customers at event location to ensure that the service meets client expectations. Solves any outstanding customer issues.
  • Assists in the planning and scheduling of daily and next-day delivery activity.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned with job classification.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with customers verbally and the ability to listen to others.
  • Able to work independently, plan and time work proactively.
