Supply Assurance Buyer II

Location: Onsite, Monday-Friday (start between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM)

Schedule: 8 hours per day

Are you energized by solving problems, keeping operations running smoothly, and ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time? As a Supply Assurance Buyer II, you'll play a vital role in supporting a high-performing chemical manufacturing plant that produces process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll help secure critical materials, manage supplier performance, and maintain production flow for over 3,000 SKUs-each essential to delivering life-changing technologies.


About the Role

In this hands-on position, you'll be part of the Manufacturing Group, working closely with Planning, Production, QC, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Warehouse to ensure uninterrupted material flow. Each day brings new challenges-from monitoring ERP signals and managing supplier commitments to resolving shortages and driving proactive supply solutions. You'll balance daily purchasing needs with long-term supply assurance initiatives like dual sourcing, inventory optimization, and supplier performance tracking.


How You'll Make an Impact


  • Place purchase orders for goods and services to support manufacturing operations.



  • Manage supplier relationships to maintain efficient and reliable supply chains.



  • Monitor inventory and stock levels to meet production and business goals.



  • Identify and resolve potential supply issues, escalating as needed.



  • Actively manage workflow in SAP and ensure timely material availability.



  • Resolve invoice discrepancies to minimize overdue payments and support supply continuity.



  • Evaluate and adjust stocking levels based on production needs.



  • Support supplier audits, RTVs, and business reviews to ensure compliance and quality.



  • Collaborate with schedulers to process expedites and maintain production schedules.



  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance purchasing efficiency.




What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).



  • 1-3 years' experience in purchasing or production planning.



  • Proven ability to expedite and issue purchase orders efficiently.



  • Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).



  • Working knowledge of purchasing principles and materials management.



  • Coursework toward CPM or CPIM certification preferred.



  • Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.



The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
