The Opportunity

The Medical Operations - Education & Communication (MOEC) function at US Medical (USM) aims to improve patient outcomes by translating medical data into clinical practice through clear, impactful education and communication. The Principal Medical Content Strategy and Excellence Lead, reporting to the Head of MOEC, will drive the enterprise's medical content capabilities, strategy, and digital initiatives for data-driven, impactful, timely, accurate, and customer-centric omnichannel delivery. Collaborating with the MOEC Director of Content Design and Execution, this role will build business cases and roadmaps, and lead the adoption, scaling, and impact measurement of digital solutions, including change management, training, and knowledge sharing with Operational Excellence teams. As a subject matter expert, this role will connect internal teams and the broader health ecosystem, elevating medical content's role in enhancing stakeholder engagement and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute product activation strategies and implementation plans for medical content digital capabilities and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Act as the "voice of the user" to shape product roadmaps and drive organizational change for new digital products and initiatives.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to standardize and improve medical content planning and execution across therapeutic areas and functions.

  • Coordinate activation communications, influence senior leaders, and secure stakeholder buy-in, while monitoring organizational impact and providing feedback.

  • Lead the development of change management, coaching, and training, and execute activation implementation plans, including launch activities and measurement.

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training in collaboration with the Learning & Skill Development team, tailored to user needs and adult learning principles.

  • Establish, evaluate, and iterate novel standards and content creation workflows across multiple asset types and channels to ensure engaging, compliant, and patient-centered medical content.

Who you are

Qualifications & Experience

  • You have an advanced Clinical/Science degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD) with 6+ years of relevant industry experience in medical communications with 3 or more years of clinical experience or equivalent experience.

  • Drives decision-making and continuous improvement using data, articulates business problems, identifies solutions, and leads workstreams from strategy to execution.

  • Possesses healthcare communications expertise, experience in end-to-end content creation across multiple channels, and familiarity with emerging trends and technology in content management.

  • Proven track record in facilitating engagement, building relationships, and executing large-scale, strategic initiatives in complex organizations.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in change management, embraces an agile and growth mindset, delivers effective training programs, and consistently meets or exceeds objectives.

  • Understands corporate legal and compliance issues, leverages stakeholder expertise, applies customer insights and data to future actions, and prioritizes to drive impactful outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in content creation and execution management across digital channels, including agency and vendor management.

  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and familiarity with segmentation tools like personas and customer journeys.

  • Profound knowledge of how various customer types (HCPs, patients, payers, etc.) operate their businesses.

  • Strong understanding of GenAI trends, technologies, and best practices for content.

Location & Travel Requirements

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, and offers a hybrid schedule working in the office 3 days per week.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $182,100 - 338,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
