The Postdoctoral Researcher we are seeking is a motivated individual, that will study the structure and functional dynamics of the bacterial lipopolysaccharide transport system using DEER and continuous wave EPR spectroscopies, molecular dynamics simulations, and other creative biophysical approaches. Our lab is highly collaborative, and we are housed within a growing biophysics department with expertise in an array of cutting edge EPR, NMR, MD, and cryoEM approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute studies related to the project and techniques described above, including performing experiments, analyzing data, and disseminating results through presentations at conferences and writing manuscripts.
- Attention to detail, integrity, motivation, and organizational skills are essential.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
Ideal candidates will have experience or expertise in the following:
* Electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (CW and DEER)
* Site-directed spin labeling methodologies
* Other biophysical techniques such as DSF, MST, CD, cryoEM
* Molecular dynamics simulations
* Membrane protein purification, sample handling, and lipid reconstitution
* ATPase and LPS binding assays
* Scientific writing, as evidenced by first author publications
* Meticulous lab notebook recordkeeping

Minimum education: PhD in a scientific field or MD
Minimum experience: 0-3 years of prior postdoc experience
