Job Mission

The mission of the Mechanical Engineering Intern at ASML is to learn about ASML's products and create an innovative solution to a real problem that we are facing using the latest technology and manufacturing techniques. You will work on Droplet Generator technology within the EUV Light Source program, transforming concepts into tested hardware with guidance from experienced engineers and scientists. Quality is paramount, and you will clearly demonstrate your impact with data.

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Job Description

  • Generate design and testing concepts to achieve the desired goals.
  • Perform 3D mechanical design of components.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis at system and subsystem levels.
  • Perform analytical analysis for thermal and structural components and sub-modules.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and CAD designers for prototype and pilot detailed design.
  • Coordinate with machine shops or other suppliers to manufacture and procure custom hardware.
  • Interact closely with development engineers, scientists, suppliers, and QA to resolve product and quality issues.

Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of two years of coursework completed.
  • Proficient in using 3D CAD software, with a preference for Nx.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles.
  • Experienced in processing and visualizing large data sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute designs from concept through to hands-on testing and build.

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Current base annual salary range for this role is currently $17.00 - $53.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
