ATI is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team for Summer 2026! This position is part of the Specialty Alloys and Components (SA&C) business unit based in Huntsville, Alabama. This is an onsite, day shift position and typically works Monday-Friday, 30-40 hours per week. Our Summer 2026 Internship Program runs from June to August.

As an intern at ATI, you'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly exceptional things. The projects and skills outlined below will be guided and directed by an established ATI-Professional in your field of interest.

Responsibilities:

This intern position will provide students with an opportunity to learn and develop a variety of engineering skills in a real-world material manufacturing environment with a variety of assignments which includes:



  • Evaluating existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks, and opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Collecting and validating information from the shop floor through documentation and time studies. Use the data to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, create reports, and establish production throughput standards on critical equipment.
  • Establish a history database for key metrics on critical equipment in multiple value streams.
  • Track and analyze data from various value streams to reduce customer injuries such as rework, scrap, cycle time, equipment reliability, changeover, etc.
  • Assist in administrative duties to support the current systems in place.


Basic Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program focusing in Industrial Engineering. Other relevant engineering majors may be considered.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
