Position Description

Pay: $27/hour

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Full-Time position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long Term Disability, and several voluntary supplemental benefit offerings. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, floating holiday, jury duty, and bereavement leave. OBJECTIVE:

Facilitate in house projects across the different business models of Goodwill to include, retail, rehab, contracts, and admin. Perform new construction, remodels, demos and troubleshooting on Goodwill owned and controlled facilities to include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hydraulics systems, painting, welding, and carpentry in order to support the mission of the organization. Possess a multifaceted background in the above-mentioned technical trades. Work with Director of Facilities, lead projects on site to completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast pass, constant changing environment.
  • Is a journey or considered journeyman level in a trade field, while demonstrating extensive knowledge and experience in other trade field(s).
  • 5+ year's knowledge of commercial retail and industrial maintenance.
  • Previous experience in the above-mentioned technical trades.
  • Ability to cross train fields as required.
  • Ability to train other technicians
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot various building systems.
  • Recommend steps for completing projects, on occasion, work orders and emergency requests.
  • Ability to utilize smart phone apps and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and maintenance equipment; aerial lift, light - medium machinery, carpentry tools, welders, skid steer, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Overtime shift or travel requirement: Ability to work overtime; work varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management staff, and peers. Provide excellent customer service. Ability to work with persons with disabling conditions. Must have strong work ethic, be a self-starter, problem-solver, and team player.
  • Ability to understand and follow all Goodwill safety standards and guidelines, and to read, comprehend, and follow Goodwill Employee Handbook, departmental manuals, and all numbered or supplemental memorandums.

  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.


*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:



  • 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
  • 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
  • 21 years of age for CDL.


Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

Applicants/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

General

* Lead projects in new construction, remodels, demos, and high priority work orders as needed.

* Perform facility repairs associated with an industrial environment, commercial retail environment, and adult daycare facilities.

* Ability to travel across the state of Colorado / Multi-stay overnights at various locations

* Fluid schedule / Night work required

* Includes, but is not limited to, the following:

o Multi-phase carpentry.

o Electrical/electronic work as required.

o Painting as required.

o Finish work to include drywall installation, tape and texture, molding

o Collect and deliver parts and tools to work areas.

o Clean up job site/work area(s).

o Trouble shooting various building systems

o Cross training

o Recommend action steps for work order completions

o Identify repairs that require vendor or contractor services

o Make contact with and schedule vendors/contractors

o Perform QC checks throughout Discover Goodwill properties

o Maintain vehicle stock and tools

o Other duties as assigned
