Lead Driver - Class A CDL

We have an immediate job opening for an experienced Class A CDL Driver to function as a LEAD DRIVER at our 31 Logistics branch located in Lancaster, TX. As a Lead Driver, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fhe following:



  • Driving: Covering open routes or acting as a relief driver
  • Training: Teaching and mentoring drivers
  • Safety: Conducting safety training and ensuring preventive measures are followed
  • Problem-Solving: Changes to route scheduling, equipment failures, etc.
  • Office tasks: Answering phones, handling customer service issues, filling out reports, and other general duties
  • Maintenance: Requesting routine truck maintenance


COMPENSATION:



  • The rate pay is $33.84 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule


SCHEDULE:



  • Typically Monday - Friday as needed
  • Route usually consists of one day of local deliveries and 2-3 days over the road

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent



  • 4 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferred



  • Demonstrated leadership attributes



  • Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records



  • Must meet all DOT requirements



  • Certification and/or License - valid Class A CDL

  • Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements
  • Skill in proficient computer usage
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skills with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurements

  • Able to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps to solve problems

  • Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
