The Department of Pathology is recruiting for a temporary Phlebotomy Technician I for our main campus draw station location. This position will perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Typical work schedule will be between the hours of 9:30am - 6:00pm. Position Responsibilities: * Performs phlebotomy draws. * Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required. * Orders, receives, and distributes supplies. * Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas. * May rotate through additional locations to perform adult phlebotomy procedures Applications will be reviewed as they are received as they are submitted and the position may be filled prior to the end of advertisement. Hourly rate of pay will be $17.58 to commensurate. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check and health screening and should be prepared to provide references upon request. - High school graduation or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous public contact/customer service experience
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
- Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
- Previous patient contact experience
