THE POSITION

Washington County Department of Housing Services is looking for its next Financial Analysis and Budget Manager!

The Department
The Washington County Department of Housing Services, encompassing the Housing Authority of Washington County, is a dynamic agency dedicated to promoting housing stability and affordability for all residents. The department administers a comprehensive range of programs, including rental assistance, affordable housing development, and homelessness services. The Position
This position leads the annual budget process and financial analysis for Washington County's Housing Department and the Housing Authority of Washington County. It is responsible for preparing various financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cycle. This position will also support long-range forecasting and scenario planning to inform management decisions. The Senior Financial Analyst oversees the preparation and monitoring of department and fund budgets, supports audits, and develops internal controls and procedures to support financial activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • A Master's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR
  • An Associate's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification; OR
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, of which at least four (4) years of this experience must be in the public sector and includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principle duties of this position classification.
