The current full-time base salary range for this position is $76,700 - $115,400 annually. "Off-scale" salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Application Window Open date: October 14, 2025 Next review date: Tuesday, Oct 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Nov 17, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description University of California, Berkeley is seeking to hire an Assistant/Associate Project Scientist to support its growing area of research on clean power system transition in China under the direction of Dr. Jiang Lin of the Department of Agricultural and Resources Economics. We have worked closely with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Energy Market and Policy Department and collaborators in the U.S. and China, including City University of New York, Tsinghua, Renmin, and North China Electric Power University, on power sector modeling and analysis to develop pathways for clean power system transition, assess the impacts of electricity market reform, and evaluate the economic and financial impacts of clean power transition in China.
