As a key operational leader within McKesson's Central Fill Pharmacy network, the Director of Automated Refill Center Operations is accountable for the end-to-end performance of a high-volume, automated pharmaceutical distribution facility. This role ensures operational excellence across safety, quality, service, and cost, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, and patient-first service.

This leader will drive strategic initiatives, optimize workflows, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on McKesson's mission of advancing health outcomes for all.

Responsibilities

  • Metrics - Track people, performance, and quality. Metrics to be measured would be derived from the Central Fill Scorecards, including, but not be limited to, Cost per Script, Scripts per Hour, Expense per Script, Production by Area, Safety Performance Index, Employee Opinion etc.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands. Effectively navigates through complex situations, both internal and external, that may require multiple decision makers.
  • Manages the production and ensures safety, security and accuracy of people and product dispensed for patient use.
  • Ability to develop, drive, implement and maintain innovation and promote continuous improvement around engineering processes, customer support, cost structure and quality initiatives.
  • Prepare Business Cases with supporting Return on Investment models for improvements and capital investments needed to improve throughput.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including priority setting, planning and resource management to exceed pharmaceutical distribution objectives.
  • Ensure high quality employee attraction, engagement, and development at all levels, building bench strength through modeling of ICARE/ILEAD and development of a high-performing culture.
  • Supports and executes performance reviews for Leadership team, initiates development plans, objectives, and actively coaching areas of opportunity.
  • Create, review, and distribute various contractual reporting analytics to customer on revolving basis.
  • Maintains appropriate communications with all levels of the organization and ensures that distribution center employees are aware of company's strategy and direction.
  • Manages vendor relations, accounts payable, purchase order, and invoice processes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training program including mandatory McKesson annual training, pharmacy/distribution SOP's, and any required compliance training for the pharmacy system.
  • Assemble quarterly reimbursement reports for various supplies and consumables.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to improve processes, optimize space utilization, improve productivity, and realize cost savings.
  • Actively analyze on-going expenses within the DC to ensure that budgets are met and take corrective action where variances occur.
  • Manages pharmacy installs and troubleshoots proprietary system problems working with a variety of personnel and vendors.
  • Perform labor modeling and staffing exercises to forecast and support volume shifts.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $105,600 - $176,000
