Our research programs focus on innovative and objective solutions in the areas of integrated wearable systems, human-machine teaming, enhanced communications, neurocognitive analytics, and medical technologies. Our group is highly interdisciplinary and includes scientific experts in physiology, cognitive science, neuroscience, speech and hearing science, psychology, biomechanics, computer science, engineering, and physics. Our core technical competencies include system-level modeling and gap analysis, advanced multi-modal sensing and signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computational modeling of physiological and perception/action human systems, hardware and software prototyping, model-based systems engineering, and human data collection in laboratory and field environments. Position Description The Human Health & Performance Systems Group is looking for a CoOp to be part of a team of researchers working on projects involving real-time physiological monitoring, signal processing, and neurophysiological assessments of cognitive and fine/gross body movement, as well as bio-feedback-based intervention. The successful candidate will work closely with experts in biomedical engineering, brain imaging (functional near-infrared spectroscopy, electroencephalography) machine learning and communication, motor and neural science to write code, collect data, and analyze results. Requirements: Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., M.Eng., or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree Self-motivated Experience (coursework or practical) with biosignal analysis, machine learning, deep learning, and statistical pattern recognition Preferred (not required): Biomedical signal/image processing experience (coursework or practical) Experience with virtual reality, web development, or Android development Compensation Compensation for 2025(will be reviewed for 2026) Technical Co-Op: $24.50 - $31.00 per hour (based on year in school) Administrative Co-Op: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour (based on year in school) Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
