As the Director of Data Governance, you'll lead the enterprise-wide strategy for data governance risk oversight, ensuring that data is managed responsibly and effectively across the organization. This is a high-impact leadership role that influences how Associated Bank protects, leverages, and governs its data to support sound risk management and business success.
  • Lead the enterprise Data Governance Risk Oversight Program, setting the strategy, standards, and frameworks for effective data management risk practices.

  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide data governance risk policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory expectations and best practices.

  • Partner with leaders across business, technology, and risk to embed governance risk considerations in enterprise data strategies.

  • Oversee regulatory engagement for audits, examinations, and independent reviews related to data governance risk.

  • Coordinate the Data Governance Committee, including meeting preparation, materials, and presentations to senior leadership.

  • Develop and monitor enterprise data governance risk metrics and reporting for executive management and the Board.

  • Identify and address emerging data governance risks, including regulatory developments and technology changes.

  • Foster a culture of strong risk awareness and data accountability through communication, training, and governance forums.

Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Risk Management, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in technology, data management, or risk management with progressive leadership responsibilities.

  • 3+ years of experience influencing senior leaders and managing regulatory interactions related to data governance.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Data Governance or Risk Management certification (e.g., DCAM, CDMP, CRMP).
