About the Job

This position will fill multiple roles in the Department of Emergency medicine. Medical knowledge is required to perform some functions.

The job has a variety of duties and there are multiple people in this role to ensure coverage and scheduling flexibility.

Training is provided for all roles:

High-fidelity Simulations Computer Operator & Embedded Participant 50%
Working in the MSIM center, this position will run the medical simulation computers and/or work in the simulation as an embedded participant.

Bequest Labs Equipment Tech 20%
The bequest lab tech is responsible for managing equipment and assisting the instructors of skills labs. The tech is responsible for knowing what skills are to be performed to ensure correct equipment and billing and to keep the department informed of any issues.

Ultrasound lab Equipment Tech 20%
The equipment tech of these labs sets ups and managing US equipment during sessions. In addition, this position is responsible for managing student flow and break out sessions.

Administrative duties 10%
On occasion, this position may be offered additional work assisting with administrative projects such as data entry, and other Microsoft office projects

This position is flexible and there are many medical school courses scheduled each month that allow work around class schedules, etc. This work happens on campus and is cannot be done remotely. All sessions are held during the work week. There are no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be included in the application materials

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to schedule at least three shifts minimum per month (during the day)
  • NREMT or other medical training (such as nursing students or allied health training)

Technical:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Customer service driven attitude
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google calendar
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20.00 per hour depending on education/qualifications/experience.
