Overview

The Director of Market Development is responsible for sales strategies for non-interest income growth and the direct and indirect leadership of client facing/sales production roles. This role represents Trustmark Wealth as a senior leader within the company to expand brand recognition and develop market growth strategies and new business opportunities. The Director of Market Development is responsible for defining and deploying the wealth planning delivery model internally and externally, through the design of a scalable, efficient, and profitable business model. This role leads and oversees planning-related thought leadership deliverables and processes, including the internal and external marketing functions.



Responsibilities

    Crosstrain, lead and develop team of associates to promote maximum productivity, engagement, and overall contribution to strategic organizational goals.
  • Accountable for an overall market sales and revenue goal met through the acquisition of new clients from internal and external sources, and the retention and expansion of the existing client base for non-interest income.
  • Responsible for educating and aligning client-facing roles in Wealth Management, Institutional Banking, Retail and Commercial Banking, on new client experience initiatives that enhance referral activity to Wealth Management and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Lead the development of the Wealth message and sales strategies to grow non-interest income and coordinate all market segment activities related to the delivery of solutions of a comprehensive wealth management strategy for individuals, business owners, and/or families.
  • Responsible for direct oversight of the Advisory team and indirect oversight of client facing/sales production associates related to meeting targets beyond new business production, including the number of internal and external referrals and COI development.
  • Actively participates in new and existing client relationships with client facing/sales production associates for non-interest income growth opportunities.
  • Ensure pricing discipline on fiduciary client relationships together with business unit managers and explore new business opportunities that align with Wealth objectives.
  • Grow or broaden revenue-generating prospect opportunities primarily within the bank and secondarily through external sources such as traditional and non-traditional centers of influence.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility within the company to educate and bring brand awareness across the company.
  • Serve on Wealth committees assigned.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management to meet organizational needs.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of wealth management, investment, trust, or estate planning experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Proven track record of excellence in sales production and/or management within a wealth management business including portfolio management
  • Sound judgment and ability to make decisions and guide others to fulfill decision requirements
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in working across organizational teams, delivering expert guidance with a strong commitment to excellent customer service
  • Leadership competency for staff of 8-12 associates.
  • Propensity to achieve high client service levels.
  • Interpersonal and interdepartmental collaboration and communication skills.
  • Master's Business Administration, Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree preferred
  • CFP, CTFA, or CPA preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
